When you schedule a photo session with Barb Levant, whether you are proud parents bringing your newborn home for the first time, or planning 50th anniversary party with all your grandchildren, the utmost care will be taken to provide you with images that you have in mind, with the professional, artistic, and technical flair that Barb brings to every click of the shutter.

For over 30 years Barb has kept these promises, ensuring that the special moments in your life are captured and preserved. From the moment that the appointment is made to the moment that the picture is hung, (and yes, Barb has a selection of exquisite framing options) Barb is devoted to overseeing every step of the process in order to unite her and your visions as one.

Cancellation Policy

When calling to schedule a photography session with Barb Levant, a credit card will be required to hold your appointment, without exception.  BLP will send you an appointment reminder/confirmation 48 hours prior to your session via e-mail. If you do need to cancel, 24-hour notice is required*, or your credit card will be charged the minimum session fee, plus any location fees.

*Exceptions are determined at the discretion of Barb Levant.

On-Location Session Policy

Barb Levant is happy to join you and your family in your home for a custom photography session and bring the studio to you (minimum session fee $300)!  Locations within the Chicagoland area will have an additional $25 transportation fee.  Fees associated with locations outside of Chicagoland will be discussed and determined at the time of appointment scheduling.

Holiday/Custom Greeting Card Policy

Clients choosing to take advantage of Barb’s unlimited options for creating custom photo cards are welcome to schedule an in-studio consultation to determine their cards’ layout and design.

If you are unable to come into the studio for an in-person consultation, please submit a Holiday Card Order Form with all of the necessary information and BLP will design your custom card around your guidelines and submit a mock-up proof for your approval.  One additional edit is complimentary; each additional edit will be assessed a graphic change fee of at least $35.

Client Order/Approval Policy

In order to ensure a timely delivery of your photo order, please place your print order within 2 weeks of receipt of your session proof prints; shorter deadlines may apply to rush orders, greeting cards, or custom framing.

Additionally, please respond to sample submissions with your approval within 24 hours of receipt to expedite delivery of your final order.

Barb Levant reserves copyright on all images, including reproduction rights. Permission for image reproduction or reprinting is the sole discretion of Barb Levant and BLP.

Pricing policy

Individual portrait sessions:

Prices are based on the number of images that I find to have the integrity of putting my name on them.  I use my 33 years of professional photographic experience as well as what I see in the viewfinder to assure both me and you that I am giving you your money’s worth.

Upgrades:

Are welcome,  even during the actual shoot if time and location permits.  The most common upgrade is the one from the Summer Special of $250.00 that includes an 11×14 as well as 24 proof prints

to a full session.  The goal goes from 24  images to 40 images utilizing natural as well studio lighting; because it IS the summer the 11×14 is still  included along with your 40 proof prints.  The price increases $400.00.

Image posting:

The original images from your photo shoot  are posted unedited and unretouched* (unless there is an obvious skin flaw) within 48 hours.   The post is dated so that you and I both know that in 90 days it will no longer be active.  You are ALWAYS welcome to come by the studio to review all of your images when placing an order in person.

Within the first week I begin my edit down to the price point that you were charged.  To be sure that your favorites are included as part of my final edit I encourage you to send me an email with a list of those IMG#s.  Those #s then become your proof prints.  They normally arrive at your home via US MAIL about 2 weeks later with  slightly slower turns during the end of summer and Christmas.

Event pricing:

All of my event pricing is based on my hourly rate of $400.00/hour.
